§ Mr. WilsonFrom academic year 1998–99 new full-time undergraduate students will be required to contribute up to a maximum of £1,000 a year in tuition fees, depending on their parents', spouses' or own income. The Scottish Office does not have responsibility for assessing the contribution towards fees for students domiciled in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, and no specific estimate of the likely average fee per student for those students from England, Wales and Northern Ireland studying in Scotland is available.
