HC Deb 19 November 1997 vol 301 c237W
14. Mr. Chidgey

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what measures are in place to monitor the maintenance of charter mark standards in NHS hospital trusts. [15105]

Mr. Kilfoyle

All Charter Mark applicants have to undergo a rigorous assessment process.

Those that meet the standard have to reapply for their awards every three years. During this period, departments, inspectorates and other regulatory bodies keep us informed of any problems and we always act on any reports of poor performance. This ensures that Charter Mark winners maintain a high standard of service.
