To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what estimate his Department has made of the financial provision for local authority services per head of population for each local authority in England in the current financial year.[13395]

Data on 1997–98 Standard Spending Assessments per head of population for each local authority in England is contained in the "Standard Spending Assessment Handbook 1997/98", a copy of which is available in the Library. Table 1 of the Handbook gives figures for total SSA per head and Table 2b gives SSAs by major service block.
