§ Mrs. BrowningAs on other issues in relation to spongiform encephalopathies, the Government look to their independent Spongiform Encephaphalopathy Advisory Committee. A special sub-group was set up to look at a range of environmental issues which met on 6 May 1996. The report of that group to the main committee was discussed at the committee meeting on 29 May 1996 and resulted in a public document which was issued by the Department on 7 June 1996.
