Mr. William Ross

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list(a) for each member state in the European Union and (b) (i) England, (ii) Wales, (iii) Scotland and (iv) Northern Ireland the current milk quota (1) in tonnes and (2) per head of the population; and what is the average milk quota per head of population in the European Union as a whole. The table shows the milk quota allocated to each member state in the 1995–96 quota year, its population in 1995 and quota per head. The table also includes quota registered to producers in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland which has been used to determine the quota per head in these countries.
