HL Deb 18 March 1997 vol 579 cc58-9WA
Lord Marlesford

asked the Chairman of Committees:

Whether he will make representations with a view to ensuring that the medal collection on display in the medal corridor of the House of Commons is updated by the addition of the Falkland and Gulf War medals.

The Chairman of Committees (Lord Boston of Faversham)

While the House of Commons medal collection is a matter for the House of Commons Administration Committee and the collection is not intended to be comprehensive, the South Atlantic medal, which was awarded for the Falkland war, is included in the display. I understand that a request for a specimen of the Gulf medal 1990–91 will be made to the Army Medal Office by the Authorities of the House of Commons.
