Mr. Malone

The available information per meeting in October 1995, was(a) £100 and (b) £60 per member.

Mr. Hughes

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will list the changes which have been made in the subcommittees of the Committee on Safety of Medicines with effect from 1 January 1996; whether those changes were made by regulations in terms of schedule 1 of the Medicines Act 1968; and if he will make a statement. Mr. Malone

The sub-committee on harmacovigilance was established on 1 January 1996.

The committee may, with the approval of Ministers, appoint sub-committees under regulation 6 of the Medicines Commission and Committees Regulations 1970. Regulation 6 was made under paragraph 1 of schedule 1 to the Medicines Act 1968.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health which chairmen of the Committee on Safety of Medicines have resigned before the scheduled conclusion of their period of office. [20142]
