To ask the Secretary of State for Health what are the current structure and membership of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation. [20026]

Mr. Horam

Current membership of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation is as follows;

  • Professor Sir David Hull (Chairman)—formerly Professor of Child Health, Nottingham.
  • Dr. R. Aston—Consultant in Communicable Disease Control, Bolton.
  • Dr. B. Bannister—Consultant in Communicable Disease Control, Coppett's Wood Hospital (Royal Free Hospital).
  • Dr. H. Bowyer—Consultant in Public Health Medicine, Borders Health Board.
  • Dr. K. Cartwright—Director, Gloucester Public Health Laboratory.
  • Dr. S. Conway—Consultant in Paediatric Infectious Diseases, Leeds.
  • Professor D. Goldblatt—Senior Lecturer/Honorary Consultant, Institute of Child Health.
  • Professor D. Hall—Professor of Community Paediatrics, University of Sheffield.
  • Dr. D. Joynson—Director, Swansea Public Health Laboratory.
  • Dr. C. R. Kennedy—Consultant Paediatric Neurologist, Southampton University Hospital.
  • Dr. J. Lunn—formerly Consultant in Occupational Medicine, Northwick Park Hospital.
  • Dr. K. Nicholson—Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Infectious Diseases, Leicester University and Leicester Royal Infirmary.
  • Dr. M. Ogilvie—Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant Medical Virology, Edinburgh University Medical School.
  • Professor L. Ritchie—General practitioner and Professor of General Practice, Aberdeen.
  • Dr. R. Smithson—Consultant in Communicable Disease Control, Western Health and Social Services Board.

Two new members to advise on nursing matters and paediatric epidemiology are currently being appointed and will replace outgoing members Mrs. D. Roden and Professor C. Peckham.
