§ Mrs. Browning[holding answer 12 March 1997]: One country introduced a ban on British beef before 1990. Thirty-four countries banned imports of British beef between 1990 and 1995. Restrictions were lifted in 14 countries before Commission decision 96/239/EC introduced a worldwide ban on the export of British beef on 27 March 1996.
