The Home Secretary has asked me, in the absence of the Director General from the office, to reply to your recent Question about the number of reported incidents of staff assaults recorded at Ranby prison from 1 January 1996 to date.Six assaults on staff have been recorded at Ranby prison since 1 January 1996. This figure represents less than two assaults per 100 population.
