§ Mr. MaloneThe Medicines Control Agency is an agency of the Department of Health, all of whose staff are employees of the Department of Health on standard civil service terms and conditions. The agency has 420 staff, of whom half are scientifically qualified. None are employed by, or are consultants to, pharmaceutical companies.
