HC Deb 10 March 1997 vol 292 cc97-8W
Mr. Congdon

To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many of the(a) primary and (b) community health service projects, established with the support of the London implementation group, will be financed by health authorities after March 1997; and if he will make a statement. [18702]

Mr. Malone

On the basis of decisions on community health schemes made so far, some 300 schemes worth £64 million will be funded through London initiative zone funds in 1997–98; some 70 further schemes worth £10.5 million which are currently funded through London initiative zone funds will be funded directly by health authorities.

In primary care, the Government have made £20 million available in 1997–98 within the London initiative zone to support the third year of educational initiatives and work force flexibilities for general practitioners.
