HC Deb 10 March 1997 vol 292 c29W
Mr. Mackinlay

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what factors led him to conclude that the proposed dual 4 widening of the M25 between junctions 10 to 12 is no longer required. [19582]

Mr. Watts

The M25 between junctions 10 and 12 is already dual 4 lane standard. Proposals to widen this section of the motorway to more than dual 4 lanes were withdrawn from the roads programme in the 1995 review because the environmental impact was not considered acceptable in relation to the benefits.
