§ Mr. WattsThe Great Western main line between London, Bristol, Cardiff and the east coast main line are existing high-speed lines. Two further high speed routes have been evaluated and implementation is programmed. They are the channel tunnel rail link and the west coast main line modernisation and upgrade. A development study for the Great Western line from Bristol to Penzance is under way.
