§ Mr. NewtonMy hon. Friend will be aware that the Select Committee on European Legislation published a report in July 1996 on the scrutiny of European business, which is currently being considered by the Select Committee on Procedure. The Government will look at recommendations for improving the scrutiny procedures in the light of the Procedure Committee's report.
