§ Sir George YoungBoth my Department and the Department of the Environment have commissioned several studies on this subject. The findings of these studies are summarised in section 3 of the Green Paper, "Transport: The Way Forward", published in April of last year, and in the United Kingdom national air quality strategy, which will be published soon by the Department of the Environment. A new study, commissioned by the Department of the Environment, which focuses on 10 cities and large urban areas in the UK, is now under way.
