§ Mr. Michael ForsythI am pleased that my report on further education in Scotland for 1996 has been published today and has been laid before each House of Parliament.
Copies are available in the Library of the House.
The report, entitled "Further Education in Scotland 1996: Report by the Secretary of State for Scotland", shows that further education colleges continue to improve their delivery of a quality service to students and employers. Incorporation has been a major success, which can be seen by the colleges' achievement of 6 per cent. efficiency gains and a 9 per cent. increase in student activity in 1995–96.
