§ Mr. HagueElectoral matters are the responsibility of the Home Office. The only prescribed form for use by candidates or their agents which acting returning officers are required to supply is the nomination paper which is available in a Welsh language version.
Candidates must also complete a consent to nomination, which is not supplied by the acting returning officer in a pre-printed form, and both the candidate and election agent must complete a declaration on election expenses, the form of which is prescribed but which is not currently available in a Welsh language version.
The Home Office proposes to review arrangements for the provision of all electoral forms following the general election. It will consider the use of the Welsh language in that review, consulting the Welsh Language Board as necessary.
