asked Her Majesty's Government:

When they will complete their revision of theHighway Code.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions (Baroness Hayman)

The Government hope to be in a position to consult interested bodies on a draft revision of theHighway Code in September this year, with a view to laying the final document before Parliament early in 1998. It should then be published in spring 1998.
