§ Mr. MilburnThe Department and the Anglia and Oxford Regional Office of the NHS Executive have not had any consultations about future use of the sites of the present Norfolk and Norwich and West Norwich Hospitals and no decisions have yet been taken.
§ Mr. ClarkeTo ask the Secretary of State for Health what estimates his Department has made of the number of car journeys per day by(a) staff, (b) patients and (c) visitors that the new Norfolk and Norwich Hospital is likely to generate. [4522]
§ Mr. MilburnA traffic impact assessment (TIA) commissioned by the Norfolk and Norwich Healthcare NHS Trust has identified likely daily flows of traffic to the new hospital as follows:
- Staff: 2,666
- Patients: 1,486
- Service vehicles: 180
- Visitors: 1,212.
The TIA made proposals to provide public transport, cycleways and footpaths to the new site which were accepted by the Planning Authorities.
