§ Mr. Win GriffithsThe majority of research in this area is funded by the Department of my right hon. Friends the Secretary of State for Health and the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. The Welsh Office is, however, funding three concurrent studies to evaluate the detection and routine investigation of sporadic food poisoning in Wales and to identify possible risk factors for infection. Total funding of £128,000 is available with £53,000 budgeted to be spent in 1997–98.
