§ Ms Glenda JacksonGuidance provided by the Department to local authorities on setting speed limits, contained in Circular Roads 1/93, includes a recommendation that the accident history should be a factor in determining the imposition of a particular speed limit. But it is for local authorities themselves to decide what to do.
