§ Mrs. LiddellThe Building Societies Commission have no powers to consider the merits of a society's proposals for making shares available to members, when it converts to a plc. That is for the Board and the members to decide. The Commission have already confirmed the transfer of the Halifax Building Society to Halifax plc. A copy of the decision has been placed in the library.
