§ Mr. HoonDuring the negotiations preceding the Intergovernmental Conference the Government have considered various proposals relating to civil judicial co-operation, one of which would apply Community legislative procedures to this field. This matter is currently governed by Title VI of the Treaty on European Union (intergovernmental co-operation in justice and home affairs) and the Government consider the present arrangements broadly satisfactory. It is one of the matters for discussion at the Amsterdam Conference which began today.
