§ Clare ShortThis Government is committed to working for a safer, more decent and environmentally stable world. The elimination of poverty is at the centre of our agenda. I am currently reviewing all our programmes to ensure that resources are targeted accordingly. A White Paper will be issued in the Autumn setting out how, through more coherent policies, the Government will tackle global poverty and promote sustainable development. This strategy will embrace the commitments agreed at the Copenhagen Summit.
