§ Mr. Mitchell
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement on the United Kingdom's contribution to the EU budget. [2264]

§ Mrs. Liddell
The latest estimate of the United Kingdom's net contribution to the European Community Budget for the financial year 1997–98 is £2,750 million.
The Government will publish before the recess the annual White Paper on the EC Budget. This will include an estimate of the UK's contribution for the calendar year 1997.
