§ Ms Glenda JacksonThe Department of Transport is working with train operators to develop good practice on implementing personal security measures both at stations and on-board vehicles. We are currently developing a secure stations scheme which will establish national best practice on security standards and accredit those stations that have implemented a package of security measures. We will also shortly be publishing the results of our research into people's perceptions of their personal security and measures that would make people feel more confident when using public transport.
