§ Angela EagleWater companies are required to monitor drinking water supplies for those pesticides whose properties and usage make it likely that they will be present. Pyrethroids are unlikely to be present in water supplies. Nevertheless, some water companies have monitored their supplies for key pyrethroids. Since 1991 261W over 20,000 tests have been carried out for pyrethroids and on no occasion has a pyrethroid been found above the drinking water standard for individual pesticides of 0.1 microgram per litre.
