§ Ms Glenda JacksonMy Department already has a programme of research which investigates these questions. A wide range of recent and current research projects has been commissioned by the Department which include investigations into the relationship between speed, road safety and the environment. The content of the research programme is reviewed each year. I have written to the hon. Member with details of this research. Copies of the letter have been placed in the libraries of both Houses.
