To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many(a) EC and (b) Irish nationals have been deported in the last five years. [1751]

The available information on European Community and Irish nationals is given in the table. Reliable statistics are not available for 1992. The number deported does not include those who are removed as illegal entrants or under port refusal procedures.
