To ask the President of the Board of Trade what estimate she has made of the change in the level of manufacturing trade over the next 12 months. [10064]

Mr. Nigel Griffiths

In the "Financial Statement and Budget Report" published on 2 July 1997, the Chancellor of the Exchequer forecast the volume of manufactured exports to grow by 7.5 per cent. in 1997 and by a further 6 per cent. in 1998.
