§ Dr. ReidThe chief executive of the Naval Recruiting and Training Agency has been set the following key targets for 1997–98:
- 1. Recruiting and initial training: To deliver personnel to the trained strength—or to other training organisations—within 10 per cent. variance from the tasked requirement;
- 2. Customer satisfaction: To obtain a customer satisfaction rating of at least 83 per cent.
- 3. Career and pre joining training: To maintain success rates of 95 per cent. in career training, and 97 per cent. in examined pre-joining training.
- 4. Royal naval reserve: To increase the strength of the RNR to at least 2,950 by 31 March 1998.
- 5. Resources: To retain tasked capacity while operating NRTA within its cash provision.
356 - 6. Competing for quality: To achieve net benefits of £4.5 million from the partnering arrangement with Flagship Training Ltd.
- 7. Management information and reporting: To implement the training pipeline management information system by July 1997, to complete the information systems infrastructure project by December 1997, and to implement project capital initial capability by March 1998.
- 8. HM Treasury Accounts Direction: To include satisfactory dummy auditable accounts in the agency annual report for financial year 1996–97, in preparation for meeting the Treasury accounts direction for financial year 1997–98.
