To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions if he will arrange for a copy to be placed in the Library of the notices given by the train operator and Railtrack to the franchising director relating to the proposed closure of Wrexham Central station. [11128]

No. The Railways Act 1993 requires the franchising director to publish notices of his acceptance of closure proposals. That has been done in this case. The Railways Act does not require the franchising director to publish the notices given to him by operators or Railtrack. Nor are these items which the franchising director is required to place on his public register.
