§ Mr. Galbraith[holding answer 14 July 1997]: The association of obesity with cardiovascular disease and other diseases was recognised in "Eating for Health—A Diet Action Plan for Scotland", implementation of which is now in train. Further action to improve diet in Scotland will be informed by data from the Scottish health survey, which will be published shortly.
