§ Clare ShortConsistency in Government policy on issues affecting poorer countries is a key element in the remit of the new Department for International Development in the elimination of global poverty and promotion of sustainable development. My Department therefore co-operates as appropriate with other Departments, in particular with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office; HM Treasury; the Department of Trade and Industry; the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions; the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food; the Department of Health; the Department for Education and Employment; and the Ministry of Defence.
