§ Mrs. DunwoodyTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what action he is taking to ensure that during negotiations with the European Union sufficient slots are made available at major continental airports for the maintenance and development of air services from key regional centres of the United Kingdom. § Ms Glenda JacksonWe are awaiting proposals from the European Commission for revisions to the Council regulation governing airport slot allocation in the Community. On receipt of those proposals, we will take account of the needs of access to the continent from key regional centres in the UK in preparing our position for negotiations in the Transport Council.
