§ Mrs. LiddellThe Treasury collects data on the ethnic origin of its staff on a confidential, self-declaration basis. When it was collected, an assurance was given that the information would be used in aggregate form only and never in a way that might enable individuals to be identified. The analysis sought cannot be given because the total number of staff in the private office of the Chancellor of the Exchequer is sufficiently small to enable the individuals to be identified.
