§ Clare ShortI expect the review of the Aid and Trade Provision to be completed within a few months. In the meantime I shall not approve any new ATP projects in Indonesia.
Our existing support for sustainable forestry in Indonesia is likely to continue, with increased emphasis on benefits to poor people living in forest areas. We shall be looking for opportunities to support local non-government organisations in East Timor and if possible projects supporting Trade Unions in Indonesia. Other proposals will be considered on their merits.
