§ Mr. Boateng"Caring for Quality in Day Services" is a standard which applies as part of an inspection process, copies of which are available in the Library. It encourages agencies to review their day service provision and offers guidance on how best to provide positive packages which include appropriate provision of meals services.
We would expect local authorities and health authorities to ensure that when providing meals services the preparation and delivery arrangements comply with proper hygiene and health standards. Nursing and care staff in hospital, residential and nursing home settings are expected to ensure that people in need of assistance with eating receive it.
