To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what new proposals he has to deter prisoners from engaging in criminal activity while in prison. [5527]

A number of recent initiatives are intended to discourage criminal activity.

These include new systems and procedures designed to minimise the risk of prisoners making unauthorised communications with the victims of their crime, and efforts to curb drug misuse.
