§ Mr. Freeman[holding answer 22 January 1997]: The table shows the number of statutory instruments, including amending instruments, made each year since 1992 to implement EC directives currently in force.

Directives for which no implementing material has been identified, or which have been repealed or spent, have not been included. No Acts of Parliament were listed as implementing directives during the period in question.
Figures are not available for the number of legislative measure through which directives have been implemented in other member states. However, the Commission's 13th annual report on the monitoring of the application of 132W Community law, COM(96)600 final, contains information about the application by member states of EC directives in force on 31 December 1995.
