§ Mr. Michael Forsyth[holding answers 22 and 13 January 1997]: The Scottish Office has already indicated that the costs incurred were expected to be in excess of £50,000. The cost of the ceremonies marking the return amounts to £34,434.15. In addition, the Scottish Office will meet £27,708.50 incurred by the armed services. All these costs will be met, as planned, from the Scottish Office administration budget.
