§ Mr. Greg Knight[holding answer 17 January 1997]: According to figures notified to my Department's Invest in Britain Bureau for the financial years 1979 to 1996, 574W over 366,000 new jobs are associated with decisions to invest in the UK. The Department does not have complete and accurate information on the additional number of indirect jobs created as a result of inward investment over this period.
