HC Deb 20 January 1997 vol 288 c498W
Mr. Jim Cunningham

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what estimate he has made of expenditure on (i) intensive treatment units, (ii) surgical departments, (iii) non-surgical departments, and (iv) accident and emergency departments for each year since 1992(a) nationally and (b) in the west midlands in (1) cash terms and (2) as a percentage change on the previous year. [10310]

Mr. Horam

[holding answer 13 January 1997]: It is not possible to identify separately expenditure on intensive treatment units, because expenditure is measured by consultant specialty rather than type of treatment. The details requested of expenditure on other hospital services are in the table. It would be possible to provide data for the west midlands region only at disproportionate cost.

Managers,(c) United Kingdom and overseas air travel, (d) hospitality and (e) business travel within the United Kingdom in (i) 1993–94, (ii) 1994–95 and (iii) 1995–96. [11718]
