To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will list the names of the trustees of all the pension funds created out of the former British Rail pension fund following the privatisation of British Rail. [10631]

In common with other multi-employer pension schemes, the railways pension scheme has one central corporate trustee covering the whole scheme and, if the relevant employers so decide, a pensions committee for individual section funds. These pensions committees operate under arrangements delegated from the central trustee and have the relevant duties and obligations of trustees. The Secretary of State has a locus only in the appointment of members of the pensions committee of the 1994 pensioners section, for which he is the designated employer.

Only the Railways Pension Trustee Company has the names of all current trustees. The current members of the pensions committee of the 1994 pensioners section of the railways pension scheme are:
