HC Deb 26 February 1997 vol 291 c276W
Mr. Wigley

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what estimate he has made of the cost to public funds of the cancer facility for Ysbyty Glan Clwyd; and what additional finance will be made available by the Welsh Office to the North Wales health authority to meet these costs. [16616]

Mr. Hague

The capital cost of the centre is estimated at £20 million and will be met by the Welsh Office.

North Wales health authority estimates that, over the first 17 years of operation, the revenue cost of the cancer centre at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd will be £92.3 million, at 1996–97 prices. The Welsh Office will contribute an additional £36.9 million through revenue support and capital charge funding.
