§ Mrs. Gillan[holding answer 31 January 1997]: Birmingham LEA's bids for capital expenditure on schools, the approved allocations and the allocations shown as a percentage of the bids in each of the past five years have been as follows:

This included an educational component relating to school improvement work. The authority will receive support 706W totalling £5.75 million over the next three years starting in 1997–98. This includes the rebuilding of Perry Beeches school—the authority's largest education project included in its bid.
