§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleyThe Millennium Commission has agreed an indicative budget on which a grant of £200 million could be made. The commission has a target of £150 million for sponsorship and the balance will be raised from receipts and commercial income. Any project of this size carries risks. An order will be introduced to extend the funding life of the commission for one year should it prove necessary to cover contingencies and inflation.
