I am replying to your Question to the Secretary of State for Defence about the running costs of the Royal Naval Armament Depot (RNAD) Coulport and the Clyde Naval Base Faslane as this matter falls within the area of responsibility of the Chief Executive of the Naval Bases and Supply Agency.The annual running cost for the financial year 1997/98 for RNAD Coulport is £50,747M and that for the Naval Base, Faslane is £130.659M. These figures are expressed at 97/98 price levels.
