HC Deb 22 December 1997 vol 303 cc504-5W
Mr. Öpik

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment if students in the full-time education and training option within the New Deal for those aged 18 to 24 years will have greater income than other students in further education. [22112]

Mr. Andrew Smith

Young people in the Full-Time education and Training option of the New Deal for 18–24 year olds will receive an allowance equivalent to their usual benefits, including any passported benefits to which they may be entitled. Information on the average income of other students in further education is not held centrally, and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
